While trekking through the woods, the group encounters a priest, Father Gabriel Stokes. He leads the skeptical group to his church for shelter, despite Abraham’s belief that doing so would slow down their journey to Washington. Fr. Gabriel, who had survived on canned goods from a fortuitously-timed food drive, leads Rick, Michonne, Bob, and Sasha to a food bank to gather supplies. Later that day, Carl discovers writing on the church’s exterior which reads: “You’ll burn for this”, further raising the group’s suspicions of Fr. Gabriel. During a dinner that night in the church, Abraham expresses his desire to continue to Washington. Rick finally agrees to participate in the mission. Tara confesses to Maggie that she was among the Governor’s army, but Maggie reassures her of her position within the group. Rick thanks Fr. Gabriel for his hospitality, but threatens to kill him should he cause harm to the group in any way. Carol, who feels uneasy after having killed Karen, David and Lizzie, attempts to withdraw from the group, but Daryl follows her to an abandoned car they had fixed earlier. Another car speeds past and Daryl notices that it has the same white cross painted on the window as the one that drove away with Beth; therefore, they decide to follow it. Meanwhile, Bob is captured by Gareth’s small band of Terminus survivors, which includes Martin. Upon awakening, Bob realizes his leg has been amputated and is being devoured by Gareth’s group of “hunters”.
